TEER 4 jobs in Canada
High school diploma or several weeks of training
What TEER 4 means
TEER (Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities) is the second digit of every five-digit NOC 2021 code. A code like X4XXX is TEER 4. It describes the education or training usually needed to work in the occupation — not your personal qualifications.
Typical education and training
- Completion of secondary school, or
- Several weeks of on-the-job training with some secondary school education, or
- Experience in a related TEER 5 occupation (when applicable).
Express Entry relevance
Work experience in TEER 4 and 5 occupations does not count as skilled experience for the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Canadian Experience Class under Express Entry. Some provincial nominee streams and federal pilots do accept these occupations — check IRCC and the province's own program pages for current rules.
