Foreign title mapped to NOC 2021. Credential lines for WES / ICAS / IQAS. Canadian English. ATS-tuned for Workday and Greenhouse. Free forever tier.

Why generic resume builders fail newcomers

Most builders are US-first. They accept a photo, birthdate, marital status, and full home address — the exact fields that get a Canadian resume dropped for equity-and-inclusion reasons. They don't know what a NOC 2021 code is. They spell organize, color, center. They generate a 5-line career objective when Canadian recruiters want two lines.

Jobeefy is built the other way: newcomer conventions are the defaults, US conventions are the exceptions.

    What "newcomer-aware" means in practice

    • Foreign title → NOC 2021. Use the Foreign Title → NOC Translator. Recruiters and ATS search by NOC keywords; if your title is "Product Owner" from India, the Canadian equivalent (NOC 21221 — Business systems specialist / product manager) has to appear somewhere.
    • Canadianizer pass. The Newcomer Resume Canadianizer strips photo, DOB, marital status, religion, and other illegal-in-Canada identifiers.
    • Credential evaluation lines. Adds "WES credential evaluation completed" or "ICAS assessment in progress" — a signal Canadian recruiters look for.
    • Canadian English. American spelling gets flagged and rewritten.
    • Language proficiency. If you have IELTS or CELPIP scores, they go in a specific location — not scattered.
    • Work eligibility framing. The Work Eligibility Checker tells you exactly how to answer eligibility questions on application forms.

The 5 fastest wins for a newcomer resume

    1. Remove photo, birthdate, marital status, religion, father's name, full home address.
    2. Add a NOC 2021 keyword to your summary and each recent role.
    3. Convert paragraph-style job descriptions (common in UK/Indian resumes) into 3-6 quantified bullets per role.
    4. Add a credential-evaluation line if you have one — or start one.
    5. Rewrite your summary as 2 lines in Canadian English.

Do this and your callback rate typically doubles within two weeks. The newcomer resume guide walks each step in detail.

    Regulated professions vs everything else

If you're a nurse, engineer, teacher, accountant, pharmacist, or other regulated professional, credential evaluation and Canadian licensure are prerequisites for practising — not for job-searching. You can and should apply for bridging programs, licensure-track roles, and adjacent private-sector jobs while your evaluation is in progress. Read the bridging programs guide.

For most other newcomers, credential evaluation is optional. WES, ICAS, or IQAS assessments help but are not required to apply.
