NOC code Canada: guides, lookup and TEER

A NOC code is the 5-digit number Canada uses to identify your occupation. Find yours, learn what TEER means, and read plain-English guides to the most-searched roles.

    What is a NOC code?

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is the system Canada uses to organize every occupation. Each one has a unique 5-digit code and a description of duties, education and example titles. The current version is NOC 2021, in force since November 16, 2022.

Recruiters, ATS, Job Bank and IRCC all reference NOC. If you're applying for jobs, applying for PR, or researching Canadian wage bands, you need to know yours.
