The Harvard Office of Career Services template has spread across the internet because it works: single column, tight header, quantified bullets, chronological experience. It's what most senior US recruiters recognise as a professional resume.

Where the Harvard resume template is strong

Where it falls short for Canadian job seekers

No NOC 2021. Canadian applications increasingly ask for it — the Harvard template doesn't have a natural home for it. Put it under your job title in parentheses.
Education section over-weighted for mid-career. Fine for students; too much page real estate if you've been out of school 5+ years. Compress.
