LMIA Employer List: How to Use the Public List of LMIA Employers
ESDC publishes a quarterly list of employers who received positive LMIAs. Here's how to use it correctly.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the official LMIA employer list?
ESDC publishes it quarterly on canada.ca as the 'Employers who have been issued a positive LMIA' dataset, broken down by program stream and quarter.
Does being on the list mean the employer will sponsor me?
No. It means they sponsored someone in the past. It signals openness, not commitment. Each LMIA is per-position.
Can I just email every employer on the list?
Cold-emailing 5,000 companies will get you ignored or blocked. Filter by NOC and region first, then research and tailor each outreach.
Is it on Job Bank?
Job Bank flags individual postings as LMIA-requested but doesn't publish the same retrospective employer list. The two are complementary.
