What the checker scans for
- ATS parseability. Two-column layouts, text boxes, section headings the parser can't find, unreadable PDF encoding — all flagged.
- Keyword match. Paste the job description; the checker returns match percentage and the specific missing keywords via the JD keyword extractor.
- Filler and buzzwords. "Passionate," "results-driven," "synergy," "team player" — flagged with a rewrite suggestion.
- Missing metrics. Every bullet without a number is flagged.
- Verb repetition. Four bullets starting with "managed" is a rookie tell — the checker catches it.
- Length and section balance. One page for < 8 years experience, two pages beyond. Overloaded sections flagged.
How to read the score
- 90–100. Recruiter-ready. Ship it.
- 75–89. Passes ATS; has 2–4 weak bullets to rewrite.
- 60–74. Will pass most ATS but reads generic. Rewrite bullets in the Bullet Improver.
- < 60. Either a parsing problem (two-column, PDF encoding) or content problem (no metrics, filler-heavy). Both are fixable in under 20 minutes.

Does the checker work with any resume format?
PDF, DOCX, and pasted text all work. If the parser struggles with your PDF, that's a real ATS problem, and the report tells you what to fix — usually re-exporting from a single-column template. Jobeefy's own templates all parse cleanly.
