McDonald's Canada Interview Questions (Crew & Manager, 2026)
McDonald's Canada interview questions for crew, shift manager, and department manager roles — availability, service, and STAR-format sample answer.
What to expect
McDonald's Canada interviews are short, friendly, and focused on availability, dependability, and service instincts. Crew interviews are usually one-on-one, 15–20 minutes; shift manager and department manager interviews add a scenario round (staff no-show, drive-thru service time, escalated guest complaint).

STAR-method sample answer
Question: Tell me about a time you gave great customer service.
Situation. Working weekends at a coffee shop, a customer came in visibly stressed 5 minutes before a job interview and realised she'd left her wallet at home.
Task. Get her a coffee, keep the line moving, and not lose the ticket.
Action. I comped her a small coffee, wrote 'pay it forward' on the cup, and rang the next three customers in under 90 seconds.
Result. She came back the next week, paid for the coffee plus 3 for the queue, and my manager added the pay-it-forward line to our shift-lead handbook.
Smart questions to ask back
- What does success look like in the first 90 days?
- Who would I be working with day-to-day, and how is the team structured?
- What's the biggest challenge facing this team right now?
- How is performance measured and reviewed?
- What do you enjoy most about working here?
