Do all Canadian companies use an ATS?

Most medium and large employers do — Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, and Taleo are common in Canada. Small employers often read manually but still copy your resume into a tracker.

Is PDF or Word better for ATS?

Modern ATS handle both. PDF is safer because it preserves layout. Avoid scanned PDFs and image-only files — those parse as blank.

How many keywords should I include?

Match the posting naturally. Cover the top 8–12 nouns and tools, and use them inside real bullets — not in a stuffed keywords list.

Will a two-column resume get rejected?

Often yes. Workday and iCIMS frequently scramble two-column layouts: dates land in the wrong job, skills disappear. One column is the safe default in Canada.

Does Jobeefy's ATS checker actually score against the same rules Canadian recruiters use?

Yes — the rubric mirrors the parsing behaviour of Workday, Greenhouse, and iCIMS, plus the keyword conventions Canadian recruiters expect (NOC titles, location, Canadian English).

What file name should I save my resume as?

FirstName-LastName-Resume.pdf. Avoid spaces, version numbers (v3-final), and emoji. Recruiters search their downloads folder by your name, not 'resume_2024.pdf'.
